Going camping with friends on Thursday. Forecast for Friday is quite heavy rain . Varying budgets amongst us with some of us not having lots of spends...so any suggestions re what to do in the area when the heavens open?

Thanks

You can take them for a ride on the Swanage Steam Railway - that's what we ended up doing one rainy day last summer. Dds (were 3 and 2) loved it.

Take the ferry over to Sandbanks and have a day in Poole - quite a lot to do undercover there.

If it's showery rather than solid rain, Farmer Palmer's in Sandford has a mix of indoor and outdoor activities - admission is about a fiver each for over-threes.

Just done metcheck which is more accurate and it syas it is going to be OK so you may be lucky. Falmer Palmers is greatr we were there last week, plenty to do.

I'm going to third Farmer Palmers, have been there on a very cold, damp New Years Eve and it was good.

If weather turns out to be great, we took boat trip from Swanage Pier on the Western Lady-best £7.50 we ever spent-and I don't think they charged for DD (who's 3 in Sept). The amount of time we've spent in the area over last 15 yrs, and never seen the coast from the sea-brilliant.
