Does 'non cancelable' mean 'can't change occupancy'?

Drat.Stuffed up booking

Just booked Novotel room in London at a great rate for business trip.. IN THE WRONG FREAKIN' MONTH!!!

It is non cancelable - a family room listed as '1 adult' occupancy.

Would they object if Dh& I & ds turned up to use it on the day?

So annoyed at wasting booking,

Do Novotel charge by the room or by person? Call them and ask, it can't hurt.
