Portable Car DVD Player

Hi

I would like to get a portable DVD player for my car to keep little one amused on a long, long drive.

Anyone have one?

What is the best one?

Where did you get it?

Do they come with something to secure them to the headrest?

Are they worth it?

Many thanks

Had the lap one for dd1 - she broke it 3 times in a year (we had additioanl insurance thsankfully)

We now have the twin sets that fix to headrests in car and come with one console (that is out of the dd's reach) (argos have them ranging from £99 to £150)

just bought one from aldi for £50 has 3 year warranty and has a battery power when unpluged of about 2hours well worth the money as she can take it out of the car and still watch the dvd.Think the twin one is in this week think it was £99

Just want to say they are definitiely worth it. It keeps DS1 4.11 really quiet on long journeys

We waited to get one until ours were older and well able to sort it all out for themselves. (8 and 10). We bought a middle-of-the range one with two screens and can play two separate DVDs or the same one.

It's great for long journeys, and definitely worth the money.

We bought a 10" Shinco player from "Allcam" (online retailer).
It did break down and was fixed within warranty, but beyond that minor niggle it was excellent value for money.
The screen is bigger than the competitors and it also plays DivX disks (which means that a computer geek in your household can put 4-8 hours worth of DVDs on one disk - leading to no disk swapping).
We paid about £180.
