has anybody been to central portugal..the mountains ..i am going in ten days for a short camping break

Im Portuguese and i might know were you are going, its very beautiful people are very friendly and very good with children you can take your child virtualy every were, but there aren't many places made specialy for young children... Any way Im sure that you are going to have a wonderful time

oh thank you we arent taking children

we are just going as a couple and camping in serra da estrela

we are going to go to the beach somewhere north of lisbon fo r a night and then to the mountain torre and that area for some walking

my bf is going to the hjighest point of every country in europe before he is 40 and this is one of them

so we are doing some walking at the same time

it is supposed to be beautiful

That's a great idea!!! You might like to go to`Peniche and Nazare for beach, they are beautiful good for a visit and with lovely sand beaches, and quite a good driving distance from Serra da Estrela i would advice you to take some time to travel from there to this beachs as it might take around 2 h driving.

if you are going between now ( July) and August I would say for you guys to be ready very hot weather and pack some extra sun block
