3 hotels on site - portaventura, caribe and the third one escapes me - caribe has a sand bottomed swimming pool - i'd go back tomorrow.

best holiday we ever had - loads to do, great food (half board), great water park. Went 2 years running and we normally never go to the same place twice!
Portaventura hotel is right on site (may be a bit noisy from the park I don't know) the mexican styled one (which i still can't remember) and the Caribe are a 5 min walk but there is a free landtrain if you're lazy! The caribe is caribbean themed.
The only down side to the holiday is that your nearest town/beach is Salou - which isn't my cup of tea but is fine. We spend hours in the park and the best bit is because it's free you don't feel that you have to do everything in one day - some days we went up for a couple of hours i the evening when it was quiet.
The train station is near the hotel and we went for a day trip to Tarragona.
It's fab!

last year and the year before we booked online with first choice for the first week in june - 2 adults and 2 children - half board - 2 weeks - approx £2300. It goes up considerably for school holidays unfortuately - I think that was about £1000 more.

Tortington · 07/07/2008 11:08

expensive!

but worth it for a one off?

right thank you so much.

definately worth it! To be honest it was our first holiday abroad with the children and I was shocked by all the prices. We had originally priced elsewhere and the portaventura was actually cheaper than a lot we'd looked at that had nothing special . I'd been expecting around £1200 - boy was I surprised!
