need to hire car seat in majorca but not hiring a car-please help!

please help, I and dd (2yrs 3 mths) are going on a girls holiday with a friend and her older daughter. my friend has a car in majorca but no car seat as her children are big now. my friend thinks that as long as dd is over 17kg which she is (v.tall for age,looks like a 3yr old, v.tall dh)then she is ok on a booster.is this safe enough for her???cant imagine we'll be doing long journeys but want dd to be safe.i dont mind hiring one if any MNers know where from

mmjanitor, i once read a thread on here about someone seeing their carseat being chucked onto the tarmac from the plane and it made me think that i wouldnt then know if it was fractured or not???

thanks v.much mmjan for replying to my plea for help, i really thought it wouldnt be safe and was very worried about it. am definately going to take car seat with me and i guess if ihave to pay i have to pay and she is safe.can go to sleep now i dont have to worry about that.
