Have you thought about the New Forest?

Lovely hotels/B&Bs, near beaches, lots to do.

yeswe could though we know it well as used to live in Hants...
just our first break in 5 years so want total peace at night and somewhere nice day time!
also sounds awful but as we are without kids, being around lots of kids does not appeal

sounds nice but were thinking of breakfasts in bed
5 days off everything!
was thinking maybe a spa day, day at the races, concert, dinners out. Walks out etc...
Have to consider booking now too as late July prime season...

macdonald hotel and spa in north berwick. Close to musselbrough races, nice beaches for walls, 15 mins from edinburgh for a nice day shopping/lunch/theatre or any hotel in edinburgh really.

This chain has some good options www.vonessenhotels.co.uk/. We stayed at this one www.stoneaston.co.uk/, very nice but no pool/spa.
