Dh and I are planning our holiday to Egypt for next years solar eclipse in August. We’re going on a Nile cruise and have to pick our excursions. I wondered if anyone has been on a similar holiday and could recommend things to do?

Trips include Karnak, Aswan Dam, sound and light shows in the evening, mummification museum (!) Nubian village and museum, and we’re just not sure which to pick?

If you’ve been on a holiday like this, what would you do?

thanks a lot x

I've been on 2 Nile cruises, & all excursions were included - e.g. Luxor, Valley of the Kings, etc.
However, from your list I'd certainly go to Karnak again
The cruise ships turn around at Aswan, it's a dam, & frankly not very interesting.

We went to Abu Simnel - it's a bit of a drive but was amazing. We got there early.

Also really enjoyed a hot air balloon ride over the valley of the kings - probably one of my favourite memories.

The Valley of the Nobles is fabulous.

And if a belgian bloke called Poirot gets on the boat, I’d keep your wits about you.
