Hi All,

Looking for advice on whether to take our 2 year old on a cruising holiday.

I have concerns about safety, food and things to do.

Has anyone been and can you recommend who to go with.

My best tip for cruising is to look at www.cruisecritic.co.uk - there is a family cruising board there and if your questions are not already answered, someone with more experience than me will!

For food, I'd have no hesitation in saying yes, no problems for all the family. You can eat 24/7 onboard.

Things to do. Well, on board there is always stuff going on. Some of will interest you and others won't. If you are happy sitting by the pool great, similarly if you want to take part in activities they are often very good as well.

There are kids clubs on all ships which last all day. Some do babysitting in your cabin and some have a baby/childminding room open in the evening so if you and your DH want a romantic meal then you can do just that.

Personally, Island, Thomson and Ocean Village cruises are not for us. IMO a bit like Benidorm at sea. Have a look at Norwegian, Princess and the better cruise lines. There are boards specific to all cruiselines on cruise critic.

As for safety, there are plastic sheets weaved in and around all railings.
