Special holiday ideas

So, after a shitty health diagnosis and a critical illness payout, ive decided to do a holiday of a lifetime with my 18 year old. We both fancy a safari but think we'd only want to be doing that for 4 ish days, hoping you lovely lot could suggest some ideas for the next bit of it. We think we need something thats fairly active, so not just beach/hotel as we'll plan a couple of chill days at the end. Ideally not days of travelling between venues. And a healthy budget, possibly up to 10k for the pair of us. Thank you!

South Africa? Stay in Capetown before or after the safari. Visit Robben Island, and Cape of Good Hope, visit a township (if that's something you'd be interested in), then a safari, then do the wine country, and home after a few days r+r in Stellenbosch.

My sister and her DH did this trip last December (not Christmas). It looked fab and they said it was brilliant. They were independent travellers, but Trailfinders sorted everything out for them once they knew what and where they wanted.

12 hour overnight flight from Heathrow and no jet lag either.
