Recommendations for a spring mountain spa hotel

Morning mumsnetters, it’s hubby’s 50th birthday next year and I need to book us a nice trip

He loves a spa so I was thinking a lovely spa in the mountains in Europe in the spring - April time?

does anyone have any recommendation's, budget is around £400 a night and and ideally closeish to an airport so we don’t waste too much time travelling

The aqua dome looks great but the reviews say there are lots of children there, we’d like something nice and chilled

Not at all close to an airport but my bucket list destination that meets this brief is the Can Franc Estacion in the Spanish Pyreneess.

Ideally as part of a road trip from the Med to the Biscay Spanish coasts.

Failing that, the secret lagoon on the outskirts of Reykjavik, combined with all things southwest Iceland would be a memorable trip. We went there for my 50th but didn't go in any spas.

Canfranc, the most beautiful train station in Spain - Barceló Experiences

There is no train station in Spain more impressive than the one in Canfranc. A well-designed, beautiful building, unmatched in size and hemmed in by mountains.

In Maria Alm in Austria, accessible by bus from Salzburg airport (1 change of bus).
Or Krallerhof in Leogang www.krallerhof.com/de/wellness-spa/ueberblick

Aquadome is very busy. I think the sort of thing you are looking is more like a hotel with a wellness/spa area rather than a publicly accessible spar such as Aquadome or Tauernspa which have hotels attached.

Probably the best thing to do is to find out where flights from your nearest airport go to and then look for wellness hotels near the destination airports and how easily they can be accessed by public transport.
