French campsite which feels upmarket with kids?

Hi! I know this has been asked so many times but i am so overwhelmed with choice and want to ask specifically.

I have 3 kids 6,8 and 11. My middle child is adhd hyper and I love the idea of a eurocamp style holiday this summer with loads of activities and slides for him to burn off energy.

Is there a site which bridges the gap between a nice hotelish complex vibe and the fun of a euro camp?

  • lots of activities, slides and stuff to do
  • close to beach/lake
  • easy to get to from airport (hiring car fine)
  • chalets not on top of each other (feel conscious about my kids noise)
  • easy/relaxed dining places so i dont have to cook all the time (but DS can’t do formal restaurants)
  • bonus if a kids club my kids want to pop into, especially my slightly socially awkward asd oldest son
  • beautiful surroundings

does my dream easy going higher end but fun camp exist in euro camp/ yelloh or sandaya etc or similar?
Have been to valamar places and enjoyed them but want to avoid their kids club screens this time.
any suggestions really welcome TIA

Bumping for you, OP. I’d love to hear any suggestions like this too!

I loved this one in Carnac-Plage in Brittany when my kids were small: Campsite Les Menhirs in Carnac in Brittany

More rural sites tend to have more space and larger pitches. I've heard good things about La Garangeoire, although it's not particularly near an airport. (Book direct www.camping-la-garangeoire.com or via Eurocamp www.eurocamp.co.uk/campsites/france/vendee/la-garangeoire-campsite)

Huttopia sites might be worth looking at too: europe.huttopia.com/en/

Not for flying… you need to get the ferry and 40 drive.

Domaines des Ormes. Has all the activities.

Sandaya campsites are meant to be a nicer alternative to Eurocamp though can’t vouch for them myself

Agree with Domaine des Ormes. It's in Brittany, so ferry to St Malo.

La Croix de Vieux Pont- just outside Paris, so not near the sea but does have a swimming lake.

We stayed here some years ago:

Domaine de Massereau

It's a stiffish walk into Sommieres itself or you can hire bikes. It's a pretty town with a good market. From memory the campsite was fairly spacious.

Pitches tend to be bigger away from the coast. On the whole I wouldnt worry about your children making noise. These are family holidays, so long as they arent being noisy at 3am you should be good.

We stayed here this year:

Camping Le Napoleon

It's a small site but what it has in buckets and spades is proximity to the beach and the small town of Vias Plage - the entrance is straight onto the main street in the town.

Yelloh Sylvamar is amazing - fly to Biarritz.

We used to do La Garangeoire but book directly with them & go for one of the more expensive options. Their own mobile homes/chalets are in the best (quietest) locations.

in laws were here in the summer and loved it

I Google 5* sites and book independently.
We've stayed at some lovely ones via the site "Leading Campings"

We've stayed at a 4/5* Yelloh village in Brittany a couple of times, it was pretty good. There was a heat wave one year and the mobile home was unbearable so I did look into places that have accommodation with air con. I couldn't find a Yelloh site but I did find one or two Sandaya sites with air con options. I've never stayed at Sandaya but I did look around one of the sites (that we were thinking of booking in future) and it definitely had a high end vibe. It's still a campsite though obviously. Sadly it's quite hard to find holiday camps with lodges (rather than mobile homes) and decent facilities. The French center parcs can be pretty good but they're not usually on the coast and I like being near the sea during summer holidays.

We have booked Le Jard in the Vendée for next year through Yelloh, never been but saw it recommended a lot and it was reasonably priced.
