Malaga EES passport checks

I'm off to Malaga with DC for half term and reading some nightmare stories about the new EES checks. Didn't travel abroad this summer and now having a minor panic. Travelling alone with DC, it feels like one more thing to worry about.
Can anyone advise especially if you've travelled through Malaga recently?

Hi, OP!

We're giving your thread a bump so it gets a bit more visibility. Hopefully, some MNers with relevant experience will be along soon. Good luck!

Best wishes,
Faye

Went through a few days ago, absolutely no problem at all. Fab weather, fab food, we had a ball in southern Spain and cant wait to go back

I travelled in and out of Malaga in September. It was fine, actually quicker than when I’d been before. I had already been to Europe since the changes though, so it may be a bit slower if you’re registering for the first time.

Hey we travelled juts over a week ago, no issues. You come in and everyone scans at a kiosk. It only asked for one adults photo and prints for our group of 6. It then rejected the child under 12 and sent us to the manual check line rather than an e gate for
passport control. All done, collected bags and made it to our taxi within 45 mins. Hope
its straightforward for you too!!

Thanks @FayeMumsnet for the bump.

A little nervous reading comments elsewhere...

Ok that's what I'm worried about, DC is under 12 so assume he doesn't need it but I assume I'll have to register and have the fingerprints done. I know it'll be fine but just another thing to worry about as it's just me and DC.

Hoping the weather is still mild! Glad you had a nice time. We love Southern Spain too.

Around 30 minutes from landing to leaving the airport a couple of weeks ago - no DC though. They had loads more machines than earlier in the year.
