Hello all! Taking our boys 3yo and 7yo to Disney next week for four days (three nights). Staying at Seqoia Lodge. Have got tickets for mickey magic show and reserved parade spot. 3yo is very much still 3yo and doesn’t sit at table for long at mealtimes so trying to work out meals etc

Never been to Disney before and asking for any tips/advice!

There’s buffets, fast food and in the village a huge McDonald’s (cheapest place to eat!) our favourite place was the restaurant in the pirates of the Caribbean ride but it was over 10 years ago I last went. At 3 they should be fine, every restaurant has colouring etc to entertain them and service was fast, they want to turn the tables over!

About the same ages as ours when we went in October half term. The youngest mainly remembers the indoor pool at sequoia lodge !

If you’re flying and taking more than one suitcase do split everyone’s clothing across the cases as we didn’t and one case didn’t arrive in France until the day before we came back ( Air France ).

If there’s going to be any rainy days while you’re there and you fancy a day out there’s a big shopping centre one stop along the train line called Val d’Europe or catch the train to Paris and have a look at Eiffel Tower and so on. We did the latter.

Take snacks. The food there is poor quality, expensive and the queues are long.

have a clear plan on how to use your early park entry - what are your priorities?

Use the app to check queue times and buy individual fast passes for rides with a long queue. We used early magic time to tick off a few rides and bought fast passes for four rides and never queued more than around half an hour for any rides.

The shows are amazing and a good chance to sit down and have a break for a bit. Pixar together was my favourite.

You need to use the virtual queue for meeting Mickey and spider man (or other avengers), also for princesses but not sure if that appeals to 7 year old boys. They release places in the queue twice a day at 9:45am and 2pm (this is the current timeslots AI tells me), and you need to be ready to book as they go live, the places go very quickly. You also need your tickets added to the app beforehand, as you have to select all the people attending. I have seen Mickey and the magician, twice I think, and it's not usually hard to get a seat if you turn up 10 minutes beforehand. I wouldn't pay for guaranteed access, you have 4 days and multiple performances each day, I can't see a scenario where you wouldn't get in the theatre. We usually have Mickey shaped pizza at Colonel Hathi's outpost at least once, otherwise eat at McDonald's. I've not yet done a table service meal. That's not me saying they are not worth doing, just that a longer meal takes up valuable time if we are only visiting for a single day.

We took a buggy for ds so he could nap while 7 year old carried on with the bigger rides. I have fond memories of watching the crowds drift by whilst I sat in the sunshine and ds slept.

If you decide to try and stay up late for the sound and light show - beware if you go in summer since it starts very late (waiting for sunset). My ds3 tried to stay awake but he slept through the whole thing

Take enough money! I know most theme parks are a rip off but Disney was something else. Take all your own snacks as it’s ridiculous. My boys didn’t sit and watch the parade as they didn’t have the attention and just found it dull,

Hand sanitizer and use regularly. Drum into 7 year no fingers in mouth. Wash hands before food. Pray it’s cold enough for 3?year old to wear gloves.
My SEN adult daughter went with a group of young disabled adults. She got
ill first and everyone who shared a room with her was also sick.
