Corfu Hotel for a couple

Hi,

Going to Corfu for the first time in September 2027, just me and my husband. I can’t choose a hotel. Any recommendations? Don’t mind if it’s self catering or all inclusive. I just want a nice hotel with a nice pool, good cocktails and no sunbed wars, though hopefully in September the sunbed thing might not be an issue. We will mostly be chilling at the hotel but will probably do a couple of day trips and sometimes we like to wander in the evening to a bar or restaurant. Or a short taxi ride is okay too. Oh and I want a room with a balcony and a sea view!

So far I have on my list-

Ikos Dassia
Domes Miramare
MarBella Nido
Grecotel Corfu Imperial

Anyone been to any of these and would you recommend them? Or are there any others we should consider?

Thanks

We're at Sentido Apollo Palace in Messonghi right now. It's lovely, we've been wandering up to the pool about 11am and there's still plenty of the double bed loungers by the main pool, there's also an adults only pool.

Cocktails are proper ones, not the pre-mixed, watery ones you sometimes get on all inclusive.

We have three al a carte restaurants included in our stay and one has a Michelin star. Plus a la carte breakfast you can go to everyday if you like, or also the buffet.

We have a private pool with our room too. And there is a private beach, although it is small and there are nicer beaches further along.

The Messonghi travel centre arranged lots of day trips with pick up from the hotel.

It's not quite Ikos standards though!

I’ve been to ikos dassia.
What I liked was the food & service in the restaurants is great. The bottles of wine are good, other drinks meh. There are plenty of sunloungers & the pool areas & beach are clean & very well kept.
What I didn’t like was the room was tiny, they pipe in this horrible scent through diffusers all around the hotel which is allergy inducing & the service & drinks in the bars was poor. I filled in a feedback survey purely with my feedback on the bar service & was hassled by managers coming to ‘check’ everything was ok for the rest of the holiday.

This sounds lovely. I will look up the hotel. Have you done any of the day trips?

Eek! Maybe not Dassia then! That’s disappointing as I’ve heard such good things about Ikos resorts.

Atlantica Grand Med. It's very secluded and quiet so day trips will be more expensive or you'll need a car. It's really chilled, which suits me, but if you're more of a nightlife person then I'd avoid.

We haven't, we're more here for a fly and flop kind of holiday. But we're going into the old town tomorrow, it's €10 per person pick up from the hotel and return late afternoon. There is a public bus for less but we felt this more convenient option for us.

There is also a little harbour here with lots of boat trips advertised.

Drinks service is good, never need to queue long at the bar and table service in the evening. No service to loungers during the day though.
