Luggage advice

I'm stuck on what suitcase to buy so need help please! We've currently got those big soft bags on wheels, if you know what I mean. They're fine when fully packed but they're not great for shorter trips. I want something that can do anything from a few days up to a couple of weeks and also buying a couple of versatile suitcases will mean my teenagers and I can pack our own stuff instead of pooling things into our current big bags.

I've decided I want to buy something from Tripp for the balance of price, light weight and quality and have narrowed it down to two. I've never had a hard shell case before so this is where I'm getting stuck really! Any thoughts on these?

They seem too cheap to be good quality.
We've got M&S suitcases, reasonable price, probably been through >60 flights & as good as new.

If 2 or more of you travel together, it's a good idea to pack a complete outfit in each other's cases for when/if a bag goes missing. (I learnt this the hard way.)

Tripp cases are good. I prefer soft sided cases myself, had a few hard shell ones and then ended up badly dented, scratched and the zips were often hard to align.

@oncemoreuntothebeachdearfriends I thought that but they get great reviews and Which actually rated them above M&S. I always pack change of clothes and essentials in our carry on, I've learned the hard way too!

@MiddleAgedDread thanks, that's really helpful!

I have Tripp cases and really rate them, but like PP prefer soft shell ones. I have the Superlite in Medium which is perfect for me and DH for a week. And a cabin sized bag which is a good size for a weekend trip.

I've always bought direct from Tripp, they often have a sale on.

Thanks @Sunseekers ! I've actually just gone and bought the Superlite in medium and the Holiday also in medium. I needed two cases so figured I may as well try a hard and a soft case 😊
