What internet site REALLY has the best deals and can anyone recommend anywhere (especially if it has a decent bar). Doesnt have to be covent Garden but West end ish would be nice.

Meeting my lovely friend on saturday and having a girly night.

Also any suggestions for things to do apart from shopping and gossiping that wont cost the earth?

The aptly named Covent Garden Hotel is lovely but pretty expensive www.coventgardenhotel.co.uk/index.php?page_id=9 - what's your budget? Wahaca is great for food - upmarket Mexican www.wahaca.com/

I would try the late rooms site for teh best rates.

Kingsway Hall is nice and in covent garden.

I'd second the Covent Garden Hotel suggestion.

for a lovely evening with girly pals head to Fitzrovia and go to the Charlotte Street hotel for drinks. It will be buzzy with the after work crowd, lots of great bars and restaurants round there for you to take your pick. More locals round there than touristy Covent Garden and easy to walk.

Are you planning on staying in the hotel or are you just having drinks there? Anyway, if cost is no object you could stay at the St Martin's Hotel on St Martin's Lane, drink in their Light Bar and eat in Asia de Cuba - all horribly expensive however! Personally, would prefer Covent Garden Hotel, I'm never in these places on a Sat night but think the latter would be less frantic than St Martin's.
