Anyone been and would recommend it? This would be for DH, 19yo dd and 22yo ds and me. I am thinking an adults only resort. We don't want to just be in a resort though, we want to see interesting things. I'd be grateful for recommendations on specific destinations and accommodations please.

Where in Thailand do you want to go? Do you want beaches, city or a mixture? How long are you going for and what's your budget?

We are going to Thailand at the beginning of November and I've been planning it for months now.

We have booked our flights and 7 nights accommodation with Trailfinders (4 in Bangkok then 3 in Malaysia) - the rest, nearly 5 weeks has been booked independently by us. We've booked through booking.com and are paying between £30-100 a night for a hotel room with breakfast. There are SO many really lovely hotels that are so reasonable.

I watched loads of YouTube videos just to get an idea of what to do and narrow it down a bit.

If you're thinking of going this Christmas I'd get your skates on as loads of hotels will be booking up as it's high season in December.

We did Christmas in Bangkok one year - it was great.
Accommodation does book up and get expensive though.

I'd personally always recommend the Datai in Langkawi if you are up for Malaysia. Was amazing at that time of year.

It will be very expensive at Christmas - most expensive time of year for flights and hotels.

We did years ago with smaller children - Chiang mai for slightly cooler temperatures, lovely temples, cookery course and elephant sanctuary, then koh Chang for a gorgeous beach side hotel with pools, sea swimming, jungly walks, then Bangkok at the end for big city, a few temples, etc.

Many years ago now so I don’t have specifics but that’s what we did over 2 weeks.

Didn't realise it would be so expensive at Christmas 😔
In the past we've gone to the south of Spain, not beach weather but mild and pleasant and lovely cities to explore and good food. Where else might be similarly interesting and not freezing?
