We’re going for a week to Rosehearty Bay in October and would love some suggestions of what to do/see in the area.

6 adults/older teens who all love hiking, being outdoors and castle / national trust type
places.

Weather doesn’t usually stop us either!

I was in Aberdeen recently and recommend the Maritime Museum and Gordon Highlanders Museum. The university is worth a visit too. Aberdeenshire has fabulous beaches - Collieston, Newburgh, Cruden Bay. Plenty of castles too - Fyvie, Slains etc. Pitmedden Gardens. Haddo House. Pennan (where they filmed Local Hero) and the outdoor swimming pool at Tarlair.

Hi, I live in Aberdeen and the beach is great, go to the far end and wander around Footdee and have lunch or ice cream at one of the beach cafes.

Also local landmark hill is Bennachie well worth a trip for a walk. North of rosehearty apart from Pennan there’s Gardenstown, Banff, Portsoy and Cullen on the coastline, all worth a visit. Have a lovely time
