Gran Canaria end of November

I am so excited, I have booked 5 days away to Maspalomas at the end of November. It’s a quiet adults only place and I just want to sip drinks and read my book. Has anyone been to the canaries in November and will it be warm enough during the day to sunbathe and swim in the pool?

I found GC to be the least windy island. I think you’ll be ok with sitting in the sun, but swimming depends on whether the pool is heated and how brave you are.

It's very much 'it depends' as the weather isn't guaranteed so will probably be mostly 20 C+ and sunny but there might be the odd cloudy day, shower or even a storm blowing through if you're unlucky. But it should be mostly fine, with longer daylight and a lot better weather than the UK.

Also what do you consider 'warm enough' to sunbathe and swim in the pool. It will be good for most people unless they're expecting tropical or summer Med temps.

You could always take a light waterproof and keep an eye on the weather forecast. If there's any cooler/wetter weather expected, you could always get the bus out somewhere. When we stayed there a couple of years ago, we went to San Bartolomé de Tirajana which is an interesting and scenic village up in the mountains. You can also go to the island's capital, Las Palmas de Gran Canaria which has a much more regular bus service. Or stay in bed/book into a spa.

It will be like a typical British summer and warm enough to sit by the pool between 10 and 4.00. It stays warm but gets dark early, say by 5.00pm

The outdoor pool is heated so if it’s 20 degrees outside, it will be fine. Thanks everyone :-)

Back again! Planning outfits now as want to take as little as possible. Are jeans going to be too heavy for the evenings?

Can I ask which hotel?

having a heated pool is one of our must haves, which does limit the resorts we can stay in.

I often go to the Canaries in winter. I pack for a British summer. So shorts and tee shirts for daytime and long trousers for evening. You might get evenings where short sleeves are enough or there might be a chill. I always take a fleece.

I was in Gran Canaria earlier this week and it was 26°. So lovely and warm.
