September sun with a 1 year old - your ideas please!

Just got back from a not hugely enjoyable trip to Barcelona with DS currently 8 mo. We did it all wrong (our first time!) so stayed in a hotel with a small room and bugger all facilities. So next time we want to:
spend 10 days+
have guaranteed sunshine
nice beaches, good food, child friendly (not just 'child tolerant')
pref non-eurozone (SO much more expensive now)
a bit of style for mummy!
Any ideas for a September trip?

Try southern Italy - they love nippers over there. If you look on Babyfriendlyboltholes.co.uk its got lots of UK and European self catering places (some of which even arrange babysitting or food deliveries and pre-arrival shops) for people with little kids - all of the places have all of the necessary facilities (sterliser,cot, highchair etc.) and quite a number have toys etc for kids. Hope your next trip is miles better.

Sorry - just seen that you've suggested not in the Euro-zone. My friends went to South Africa when their youngest was one, oldest two and a half and all loved it - probably work out alot cheaper than Eurozone. Again, I'd suggest going selfcatering somewhere near lots of shops and restaurants (as so much easier and spacious than being in a cramped hotel room).

California - Los Angeles and Disneyland particularly. Wonderful beaches, you also have the parks such as Yosemite not too far away. Also San Diego is lovely and not far from LA.

I took my son when he was 2. We actually stopped over on our way to New Zealand. Fantastic, especially Disneyland which of course is totally child friendly! We did it again a couple of years later and again just last year though this time we spent the while 2 weeks in California.
