Would you pay £500 each to upgrade on an eight-hour flight?

We're coming back from the US soon, around an 8 hour flight. It's a day flight that lands about 10pm US time in the UK.

An upgrade to business class from economy is around £500 each. Would you bother? We're not rich, earning about £10k a month.

it's 10k between two. We wouldn't usually spend £1,000 on a day out - so 1k for 8 hours is a lot!

Nope. Don’t believe it. No one would ever say we’re not rich and on 10k a month

If you get a flat bed id consider it. But if you havr no savings id pit the 1k in an isa.

Yeah - they definitely need those savings 😂

@smoshna do whatever the heck you want. It's no one else's concern.

I would do it in a heartbeat, @smoshna. We flew to Perth, Australia at the weekend - 8 hours Edinburgh-Dubai, then 10.5 Dubai-Perth, and it would have been wonderful to upgrade.

Why not? Haven’t you heard of a HENRY?
A £10k monthly income doesn’t automatically come with a car, house & trust fund. Those things still take time to build.

OP yes I probably would pay that for an overnight, but a day flight I’m not sure you’ll really get much benefit, unless you’re straight back to work the next day.

You are loaded just pay for the upgrade!
