Train novice needing help from London to Deauville- how best to book?

Looking to go to Deauville from London and need advice on the best website or way to book? Individual tickets to Paris and onwards? Combination? Bargain ways to do it?
Any hints, tips things to do or avoid on the journey too?
Flexible when to go, and how long for, but by the end of the year.

Use the Eurostar website to Paris, then the SNCF app from Paris to Deauville. Both will show you the cheapest prices for each day.

If you have an iPhone you can buy Paris metro tickets directly onto it. If not, there's another app.

We use Trainline to book train tickets across Europe. We were even able to buy a local train ticket in Sicily avoiding a massive queue.

Yes you can do this. It won't usually sell you an itinerary from your home town to Deauville but you should be able to buy in two goes, hometown to Paris then Paris to Deauville.

There is an app called Bonjour RATP where you can buy Metro tickets for Android. You buy the tickets and then they exist on your phone just put the phone (back side down) on the reader.

You could also look at ferry connections - could for example sail to Caen and get a train with one change - Caen to Lisieux, Lisieux to Trouville Deauville station. Google maps will give you itineraries on trains and buses
