Looking for recommendations for one night in Dublin, late November, double room, central, preferably on a DBB rate. Budget would be under £400 for the night.
Has anyone got any recommendations?

We stayed here, it's right in the heart of Temple Bar, and close to O'Connell Street, the river etc.
I'm not sure they offer dinner packages but there is somewhere to have food in the hotel.

Have a look on Booking.com, choose South City Centre and if you post those you like here I could tell you about the area, and generally about the hotel. But TBH anything around Grafton Street, St. Stephen's Green, Camden Street are going to be in good locations. It depends on what you want to do.

For a more sedate pace, choose St Stephen's Green/Merrion Square area. For a much more lively vibe choose upper Camden Street/Harcourt Street. That's where the Dubs go to party along with Sth William/Fade Street/Georges Street/and around Grafton/Dawson Street (slightly more upmarket, but not much!).

If you want to do the tourist thing, then Temple Bar is good, especially for one night, but I would recommend you walk back towards St. Patrick's Cathedral and find Darkey Kelly's pub on Fishamble Street for a great trad/music session and good fun. It's just a little way away from the madness of Temple Bar itself but still has the vibe. There's a hotel right beside it too can't remember the name!

So if you want to get back with your preferences, I'll try and help. I'm long gone now but was born there and obviously it's my home town!

Oh and I personally wouldn't do a dinner package, there are so many terrific restaurants and great pub grub everywhere you go that you'd be mad to confine yourself to the hotel. But maybe you have your reasons for that.

I used to stay at the Leonardo when i was there for work, nothing fancy but it was fine and pretty central. If it’s the 21st Nov then there’s rugby on which will probably bump up prices. I wouldn’t eat in a hotel, you can usually get better elsewhere.

I’ve stayed a few times in Ivy Garden hotel near st Stephen’s Green and it was lovely.

Try The Moxy Dublin city centre it is central and cheaper than most but a lovely place to stay. I wouldnt book dinner in any hotels as so many fab places to eat out in Dublin.
