Vilnius / Riga

Has anyone been? We loved Tallin and have been wanting to check out the other Baltic capitals. Thinking of going over a long weekend in May and trying to decide if we should just go to one or the other (and which one!) for 3 nights OR add a 4th night and stay 2 nights in each as it looks like there are good bus/train connections between the two cities. I don't feel like we need to see everything but also don't want to shortchange the cities either. Any thoughts or suggestions from those who have travelled there? Thanks

Yes I’ve done both in separate trips and loved them both! Stayed two nights in both. Riga is just incredible and that was my personal favourite but Vilnius equally as good. Both times we went in November and I really enjoyed the cold even! Easy public transport, great places to eat and drink and some fabulous museums. I’d visit them both again in a heartbeat there was stuff we missed

I loved both but prefered vilnius slightly. Kaunas, which is about an hour by train from vilnius is also nice. Riga is bigger and there probably was more to do but i really liked the atmosphere in vilnius.
