Malaga accommodation and things to do recommendations.
going to Malaga on 9th of Oct with 2 children and DH. Kids are 9 and 12.
Unsure where to stay- happy to stay outside of Malaga. Previously in Barcelona we stayed in Sitges and went on train for a few days.
hoped for a balcony/tooftop pool.
any help appreciated X
(I’ve been sucked away by asking all my questions to chatgpt that I forgot how great number is! The original AI!) x

Have a look at Mijas pueblo, it's a really pretty little white traditional village not that far from Málaga and the coast.
Nerja is also nice and would be easier to get to if you're not hiring a car and is right on the coast.
Málaga itself is also meant to be nice though I've not stayed there myself, just flown into it and then stayed elsewhere

Following this! I need to book some Málaga accommodation for a few days before you!
I'm probably staying in the city though, as I've heard good things about it.

We stayed in the centre but the rooftop pool was more aimed at adults so no use there.

Highly recommended a sunset catamaran trip with the kids. It was a bit cooler and the net was good fun.

Thanks everyone!

I have booked an Airbnb in Del Palo beach.
pedagaerio area. (£830 for 5 nights which I’m happy about!).

It has a roof top pool (my kids will swim even if it’s cold!).
the bus takes 20mins into Malaga and I think we are more beach vibe folk so will go into Malaga and base ourselves outside.

we went to Nerja at Easter and had a great time- we started in a duplex apartment with a shared pool (unheated) and we had a great time.

Will look at cataramans!

Loads to see and do in Malaga and it has a beach too! You can get the local commuter train (C1) which stops at all the resorts along the coast as far as Fuengirola. Or you can take the C2 up to Alora for mountain views. It’s very cheap, you don’t even need to buy tickets, just use your debit card and tap on and tap off for each passenger. You can buy a green transport card (tarjeta) from most tobacconists (Estancas) which you preload and that’s even cheaper.

Have a great time!

Thanks for the train info
