Hey! Im looking for recommendations/ suggestions for a January break to celebrate our dd's 18th,
Family of 4
Ideally 3 nights but up to 5 ,
Ideally flying from bristol/ cardiff but adaptable.
We've done Paris, NYC, Venice, Prague,Budapest,Spain, Canaries, Dublin,London, Rome.
Would like Amsterdam or Vienna but might not be the best time of year
Looking for something a bit unique so open to any suggestions! Thanks!

If the 18 year old is sitting A levels will they want to have a holiday in term time? Mine wouldn't have.

If not doing A levels then I'd go somewhere south to get good weather. Morocco?

Currently at college, aiming for a weekend but could squeeze a day either side too
Thankyou ill take a look at Morocco!

Iceland? Maybe you'll catch the northern lights. Lots of stuff to do there. Wrap up well!

We took our daughter to Monaco for her 18th. Cafe de Paris on her birthday. Such an amazing place , very special. Easily doable with 3 days. We visited Antibes and Nice too. Unsure of weather in January though.

Not as much as you’d think . We stayed in Nice and travelled into Monaco on the evening of her birthday. We caught the train in the next day too to spend the day there. About £5 and it’s a beautifully scenic route. Antibes was by train too and it’s a beautiful town , feels very French 🤣 Monaco itself was expensive in that the cafe de Paris was ££££ but there’s another restaurant above called amazonica which was amazing too. It’s very doable on a budget , we saved by stopping in Nice then splurged in Monaco. Think it was around the £350 mark for 2 nights and 3 days, it truly was the most magical trip 🥰

We went to Amsterdam this January (luckily, after Schipol had replenished de-icer stocks) and it was fabulous. We stayed at Banks Mansion which has a lounge with a fire and a free bar, handy between sight seeing and dinner. Lots of cosy restaurants and bars, canal trip with wine and blankets.

Nice can be nice, DH went to an annual conference end of January for years and they could eat outside during the day but it was still chilly mornings and evenings. But that was the last week of January.

I would go by what your DD wants. Is there anything she always wanted to see in a museum or exhibition or any particular place she loves?

We went on a tour of the Loire castles as that was our DD's dream for her 18th. We offered her all kind of amazing trips but no, a week in France was all she wanted.
