Europe Honeymoon in March

We are looking for a 4 night honeymoon in Europe. Because it is a short time, we would like a direct flight. We will be going at Easter so the end of March. Nice food, nice accommodation, nice weather but we are pretty easy going. Any suggestions?

Istanbul is very historic, nice weather but 4hrs flight.

Malaga. Granada would be even nicer but it's about 1.5 hours by road or 2.5 by train from Malaga airport so may be more travelling than you are happy to do.

I've been to Valletta in March and although it was too cold and windy for the beach, Valletta itself was warm and sunny and hot enough to sit out at lunchtime.

Madeira would be lovely in March.

Seville, with a day trip to Cordoba.

Another vote for Malaga

Before you book, check if things will be open during Easter. I remember going to Barcelona for Easter some years ago and not all but quite a few restaurants and shops were closed that weekend.

Secrets Bahia Real Resort in Fuerteventura is an adult only hotel with great food. It has six a la carte restaurants including two Japanese places – one with teppanyaki and the other has its own sushi bar. One of the outdoor pools is heated all year, which I think you’ll appreciated in March.

I think it would be hard to top Florence for a romantic stay with optional trips into Tuscany

Agree with PP about checking local arrangements if you’re actually going over Easter. Seville essentially shuts down over Easter for massive and slightly weird parades. I think Granada might be similar.

Do you want relaxing / city / something else? I like PP’s shout of Istanbul. Stay in a lovely hotel where you can feel pampered, with occasional forays for culture.

No guarantees of nice weather in March on continental Europe, canaries is more likely but 4 hour flights. Very south of Spain, Sicily etc are best for under 3 hours, the latter would be very honeymoon appropriate- i recommend Taormina

I agree with checking opening times. Not just restaurants but also museums/attractions. Easter is so massive, especially to the Catholic Church, you may find more closed than you think.

If you change your mind about weather, we went to Prague over Easter and it was brilliant but cold (first weekend in April). Or look up Stockholm.

Im not going to go Easter weekend, will probably go the weekend before or after but that's a good point about checking things are open.
