Recommendations for a quiet, historical stay in Istanbul for a couple

Any recommendations for Istanbul, off fairly soon with DH. In our 50s, both like history, nice food, a quiet place to contemplate the world.

I prefer the Asian side (quieter). Also you might enjoy a trip to the Princes Islands.

We stayed at Pera Palace hotel; it was beautiful and definitely historic.
