I know, this is a ridiculous question around which there can be answers that will vary enormously, but, if you live in Cape Town, or have visited recently, can you give me some sense of what you'd be spending for a meal out per head, and how many courses/whether with/without wine and roughly the kinds of restaurants?
I've been looking things up and I can't quite get my head around things. It feels like mains seem to range from around R100-R300 (more for fancy restaurants), but I can't quite figure out what I should be budgeting per person overall? We haven't been for ages and my overwhelming memory of our last trip was that it WAS more expensive than in previous years, so it could be the same now.
I'm also keen for what locals feel as we'll be going out with friends a lot and I want to choose restaurants that are appropriate.
