Aruba or Curazao

Looking for advice on which of these islands to visit

Genuinely thought this was the baby names forum for a minute! 😆

Anyway, I hear Aruba is gorgeous. My neighbour went there last year. Hopefully someone can come and give more information soon. xx

Based only on visiting both on a cruise, Aruba beaches are stunning, and I’d say it feels more American. Curaçao is pretty but doesn’t really have the beach resorts. Both islands are quite dry and flatand nothing like the more tropical Caribbean isles.

Only been to Aruba - it was a stunning island & we had a great time there! Watch out for the Tradewinds though as makes it feel like a lovely temperature but you end up roasted without factor 50 suncream!

Went to Aruba 10 years ago for my honeymoon. Absolutely beautiful place, lovely resort, amazing staff. A lot of rude Americans though but they’re everywhere in the Caribbean

If going to Aruba I would recommend staying in the 'low rise' rather than the 'high rise' part (filled with large chain hotels, Marriott etc). The 'low rise' area felt less american / more authentic.

Beaches are stunnimg. We stayed at The Bucuti Beach, it was wonderful. Would love to go back!

If you chose Aruba, there is a coastal hotel that has a private island attached with a famous flock of flamingos. There was a little boat that came into the lobby for transfers and most days we had the island to ourselves!

I’ve only been to Aruba and it was lovely. We spoke to a lot of people there who had travelled all over the Caribbean, but Aruba was their favourite.

I like the fact it’s got a lot of American tourists - it means service and housekeeping is excellent and the food was really good.

it’s the Renaissance in Oranjestaad that has the private island with flamingos. If I went again I’d stay on Eagle beach as the beaches are much better.

Thank you all. Aruba it is then. Will look at the resorts recommended. We like nice beaches but not over developed or over touristy

Was the sea in Aruba calm or rough? I heard there could be strong winds sometimes

i think Google is your friend here! We went in April and had a very calm day. But it is known for the trade winds and sailing, so I presume it varies month to month.
