Oslo vegetarian-friendly cafes / restaurants open Sunday afternoons / evenings?

This time next week I’m going to be on a plane to Oslo 😀.

I’ve just realised that I haven’t done much research into Sunday opening hours for eating when I get there. I know I could ask AI, I don’t want to.

Can anyone recommend somewhere in central Oslo that I can get a vegetarian meal from 4pm onwards on a Sunday?

I don’t remember Sunday opening hours being an issue in Oslo. It’s a capital city like London so has plenty of places. My advice on restaurants is not hugely helpful as I was with my fussy 5 year old who mainly wanted pizza but we usually found good (if a bit tourist-y restaurants) casual restaurants on the harbour. I seem to remember a very good Indian and lots of bistros/Italian places that all had vegetarian options. Enjoy Oslo, it’s a cracking city!

How long are you there for? I'd worry more about everything closing down for a state funeral at some point soon than not being able to get a meal on a Sunday afternoon!

If you're happy with something casual, a street food hall might work. Should be a good choice of vegetarian options and more affordable with Oslo's famously high prices. Says its open until 9 on Sunday, I have no idea when their King's funeral is though.

There are (at least) 2 street food markets in Oslo. One on the harbour and one about 5 minutes walk from the main square. Both offer a wide variety of cuisine.
I'm highly envious of your trip, are you going by train from Oslo to Bergen?

Train from Oslo to Flåm, while staying at Flåm there’s a trip up a mountain & an afternoon cruise, then on to Bergen for a couple of nights & train all the way back to Oslo on the last day.

I usually holiday in Italy so this is completely different - I’m really excited!

Street food places are definitely sounding like the way to go.

Most of the counters at Oslo Street Food have vegetarian options. I’ve had some great meals there.
Mamma Pizza is a very popular Italian which will have loads of vegetarian options.
Seaport is another good one, with the most amazing views.

Everywhere I visited in Norway (touring) had vegetarian options, there’s wide range of cuisines too

Thanks for the Oslo Street Food suggestion! I ate there last night & this morning I picked up a truly magnificent vegetable-stuffed roll from Baker Hansen to eat on the train to Flåm.
