Has anyone been to this region in December and if you any recommendations for places to visit? Travelling for a week from Boxing Day til early Jan with our two dogs, have an air bnb booked closed to Colmar. Will have the car obviously coming via le shuttle.
A lot of Christmas markets will have finished but a couple are still running which we will visit.
We would love to head across to Germany and visit some pretty villages and have a nice walk.
plan to spend time in Colmar, Munster, trip to Lucerne and hopefully to find some snow around there in the mountains.
I’d love to hear any recommendations 😊

Never in December, but do go and see the extraordinary Isenheim Altarpiece when you’re in Colmar. Some astonishing art in Alsace in general, anyway. We stayed near Riquewihr, which was very picturesque.

I've only been in summer. It's one of my favourite places. I'd love to go there in winter. It's fabulous whatever time of year. The food, wine, scenery and architecture are gorgeous.
