Who is going ? as in what ages ?

St Ives is lovely, great beaches , although my favourite is Porthgwidden, however I think they have just shut the toilets for repairs ?
Nearby you have Mousehole, St Michaels Mount ( think you still need to book ? ) There is a fantastic outdoor lido on the front at Penzance . Day trip to the Scillies ?
A lot depends on what sort of things you like doing ?

Rainy day , there is a big arcade in Penzance on the front , lots of 2p machines and a little park next door to it , easy enough to park too. The Maritime museum at Falmouth is worth a visit and if you are there for the day, take a boat trip to St Mawes, boats depart not far from the museaum.

https://www.islesofscilly-travel.co.uk/day-trips/scillonian/ link for the day trip. Done it a few times, reccomend sitting on deck to avoid sea sickness if possible.

The park on the front at Marazion is great too, car park is expensive and the seafront can be quite fragrant at times ! But walking across to St Michaels mount even if you aren't booked to go in is a nice way to spend a bit of time.

Loads of great National Trust places a bit of a drive north.
