I am expecting (hoping) a wee windfall soon which I’m going to spend on an extended family holiday. Teens would love climbing and /or water sports and younger kids (6/8) would also enjoy activities but have a toddler sibling too so play parks and pool also a must.
Open to hotel or self catering accommodation… short transfers would be good.
Hit me with your best suggestions for summer 2026 please

Landal Sonnenburg in Germany might suit your family well. It has an indoor climbing wall and a treetop high ropes course, bike hire, bowling alley, mini golf, arcade, indoor pool, soft play, kids club and numerous play areas. There are bungalows which sleep up to 10, so you’ve got enough room to spread out! It took us about 6 hours from Calais.

Transfers from Salzburg or Innsbruck airports to the Austrian summer resorts are short - max. 90 minutes - and there are similar transfer times from airports serving the French, Italian and Slovenian resorts.
