Taking overnight oats, yoghurt and chia pudding through Bristol airport security

Has anyone taken overnight oats, yoghurt over 100ml or chia pudding through the new airport security? I’m flying from Bristol, so know they have relaxed the 100ml rule for hand luggage, but can’t find anything about this sort of food.

You’ll be fine
but pret do a really nice one and will save you the bother

ChateauMargaux · Yesterday 15:12

Why?

Marroon · Yesterday 15:12

It just doesn’t seem worth it when you can buy something like that in the airport. Surely the yoghurt will be out of the fridge for about 4 hours by the time you’re actually on your flight and possibly longer by the time you eat it.

Won't it go warm and taste absolutely revolting?

Just buy some when you get through security Confused

they are a few pounds from Pret Op

treat yourself

BreakingBroken · Yesterday 15:33

Due to the consistency I had hummus removed.

I’m not so sure. My dd is anaphylactic and so we take all her food and I’ve had no end of things taken off me for being ‘gels’. Like yogurt for example.

Have you flown this year?
They have eased up security massively
2 litres of liquid and nothing needs to be taken out of luggage
it’s brilliant!!

for breakfast maybe??

Thebinisrightthere · Yesterday 16:13

I'd take it, the worst that will happen is they'll take it off you

MelonSorbet · Yesterday 16:15

Why on earth would you even bother?!

Depends on the airport. Only some U.K. airports allow this.

I think the worst that could happen would be getting food poisoning from unrefrigerated yogurt whilst on the plane.

Thanks all. Allergies, so safe balanced food choices.

But the ingredients of the overnight oats at pret is literally yoghurt oats chia seeds etc

what allergies?

Besidemyselfwithworry · Yesterday 16:40

My sister is gluten free which always seems a nightmare with airport/fast food. But I’d just eat it before security and be done with it I wouldn’t faff about.

TheGander · Yesterday 16:54

I tried to do just that at Gatwick and they chucked it in their bin. Yoghurt counts as a liquid and the whole overnight oats thing can’t go through their liquid analyser so even if you are allowed liquids, they have to be clear.

I get it, I hate paying for any sort of food at airports. Too expensive, not nice but it wont worth it. You can get those at Pret and it should be ok and fairly priced.

Yes, but it’s not all airports or airlines.

Pret! Nobody with an allergy would buy food at Pret. Especially not in an airport.

GiantRoadPuzzle · Yesterday 17:09

There’s also no Pret at Bristol Airport.

We went through with liquidy type food last week, you’ll be fine.

They would now after everything that happened
In fact, pret would probably be your safest bet
