Getting a P&O ferry on Thursday from Dover sailing time 11am. We need to check in at 10am but need to go through boarder control beforehand.

Anyone been recently that knows how long this takes and what time we should arrive?

I live in Kent. Probably 3 days before. Sorry East Kent gets totally fucked up due to traffic for Europe.

At least 8am. Ideally 7am.

The ticket say to not arrive earlier than 8 - no more than 2hrs before last check in so we might aim for that.

I don't know if coaches are different, but when my daughter went with school (early July) they arrived about 7am for a 9:45am ferry. They were supposed to be there earlier, but ended up leaving school at least 90 minutes later than planned. On the way back they arrived at the port even closer to check-in time.

In case anyone is in the same boat ( sorry couldn’t resist) boarder control and check in very quickly with minimal queues. We ended up being put on an earlier ferry.
