Solo beach break in Thailand after Bangkok work conference, any advice?

I’m going to a work conference in Bangkok at the end of October and am planning to stay on for a few extra days afterwards to have a holiday. I’m thinking of taking an internal flight somewhere coastal and spending a few days at a beach resort.

A friend was originally hoping to join me, but unfortunately she can’t make it now, so I’d be travelling on my own. I’m feeling a bit nervous about the idea of doing it solo, but at the same time it feels like too good an opportunity to miss!

Has anyone done something similar, particularly travelling solo in Thailand? I’d love any advice, tips or words of encouragement to help convince me to go for it!

Hop on the train south to Hua Hin.
Fly Bangkok Airways to Koh Samui or Krabi.

@Squirrel437 thanks! Is there a reason you mentioned Bangkok airways specifically?

No. Just that we always did our internal flights with them and they were really good

Agree, fly to Krabi or Koch Samui and stay in either of those or ideally island hop a little further. I have travelled on my own in Thailand and have always found it really safe and welcoming. Make the most of the opportunity!

Good recommendations above. Koh Samui or Krabi I would return to in an heartbeat.

Phuket for a few days. If you want super easy stay Nai Yang which is close to the airport. Nice beach, plenty of buzz but not manic.

Samui or Krabi. Samui is more developed but lovely and green and lots to do. Krabi is more dramatic but less developed. As a woman on my own I’d go to Samui.
