Where to go - first week of November.

DH and I are after a relaxing week away but can’t go until the very end of October (end of half term) / beginning of November.

I’d like to be able to chill by the pool, but also mooch around somewhere interesting.

I’m a cold soul so would appreciate a heated pool and warm sea! I’m not worried about needing a cardigan on the evening,

Flying from Bristol, Cardiff or Birmingham

AI

Beach side (no shuttles)

Not Eygyt or Turkey

Can anyone recommended somewhere that fits the bill?

I think Barbados and Cancun are your better options for guaranteed heat at that time. You can fly to both from Birmingham. You’ll get more for your money in Mexico, but you would need a transfer from Cancun to Playa del Carmen if you’re looking for somewhere worth mooching.

Thanks. I had thought that the Caribbean might be too far for a week, with the time difference, but I’ll give it a bit more thought.

I am 50 years old, disabled and looking for a holiday in England that has a hotel on the beach, with an indoor spa and a fitness centre situated within the hotel. I would like the hotel to be not to far from the coach station and not to far from the train station and in an area that i am able to access my taxi apps to go to the hotel from the station and to go from the hotel back to the station to go home. I will be a solo traveller eventually, but i will checkout the hotel by going there with my family first, then when i know my way there and back, i will use the hotel on the beach as my once a season vacation hotel. Any ideas please of destination areas in England that have hotels on the beach and is in a good service area for taxi's and not too far from the coach station and the train station? Maybe i should checkout a in person travel agency.

Only because we’ve been there a couple of times before.

@GoldBae, as we’re looking for such different holidays you’re more likely to get a response if you start your own thread.

Cyprus is a bit iffy then if you want a beach holiday. Can be really rainy but might be glorious

Probably best to start your own thread for this with a suitable title

It’s our only relaxing break this year, so reliable weather would be important.

After we change the clocks at the end of October, Barbados is only 4 hours behind the Uk.

Muchtoomuchtodo · 15/08/2026 13:52

Ah @Forgottenmyphone. I didn’t know that. Thanks for pointing it out.
