Has anyone been to Lake Garda at the end of October?

Just wondering what the weather might be like.

I’ve wanted to go for ages and seen a deal for a Eurocamp for October half term. It’s Peschiera if anyone can tell me a bit about the area that would be great too.

Thanks

We went last October and it was really hot, wild swimming weather. Lake Garda is absolutely beautiful. Book it!

Well, you know the answer... Being a mountain region, it might be fairly cool and/or rainy by then. Or it might be sunny and glorious. Either way it'll be beautiful, and a lot less busy than peak season!

Peschiera is the right end of the lake for day trips to Verona or Venice, and easy reach of Sirmione, which is also beautiful. The north end of the lake is more dramatic, because the mountains are bigger. From Malcesine you can take the gondola up monte baldo and see the marmots getting ready to hibernate..

Check if the boats are running when you're going, it's so much fun using the boats like a bus service to see the different parts of the lake.

Thank you, I am so tempted. I looked at the price for going in the summer and it’s almost 3 times dearer!

Any suggestions on what to do in the area? Will have a car so can go further afield.

I did it years ago and we experienced the full range of weather from swimming in the pool to put your big coat on there's snow on the mountains in one week! It was beautiful though I'd love to go back. We used the ferries and visited all the towns on the lake.

Much nicer weather if you want to do some walking. Perhaps a bit chilly for sunbathing. Perfect temperature and time of year to go to Venice though.

I much prefer the temperature in October in Northern Italy, but it can be rainy

You guys are definitely selling it to me.
Its £2k for 4 of us including flights and hire car at Bella Italia Eurocamp (if anyone has any knowledge of this place they can share with me) which seems like a great deal.
Appreciate we will probably spend the same again when we’re there!

We stayed there...loved it! Many years ago now though. But was great for accessing the local area. It was closing down for the season though so check if that's the case...lots of activities unavailable which didn't bother us with ages of the DC at the time

Gardaland is fabulous if you have kids

Been looking at that, the DC are 7 and 12, they are both a bit wimpy when it comes to roller coasters so not sure if it’d be a waste of money. Have seen they have a Minecraft event on at the moment which they ADORE so might be worth going for that.

Not been to Bella Italia campsite myself, but know a few people personally who have stayed there, and have seen it mentioned quite a few times on here - always favourably.
