I’ve a solo trip planned to Amsterdam, leaving in 3 weeks, booked very last minute. Can anyone recommend me a good central hotel that won’t cost me a fortune? Also how safe did it feel there a solo woman?
any top tips/ recommendations? This is my first solo trip

I’ve always felt very safe in Amsterdam when travelling solo. I’d avoid the red light district as that’s where you get random (aggressive) people offering to sell you coke etc.

Hotels are expensive. ‘most of the cheaper ones will give you a single bed room the size of a broom closet with a small en-suite for about £70 ish. They tend to be clean though although fittings may be tired. Expect a super narrow staircase that reminds you of a ladder. I’d be tempted to stay at a hostel, it’s easy to meet people if you fancy going for a beer in the evening snc they are cheap.

Not sure if your budget but we stayed in the NH Barbizon near the station and it was absolutely fine and we felt safe. They have a few dotted around
