I'm hopeful that the hive mind can help me find a holiday. I've been looking for a holiday for a few months and was fairly chilled about leaving it until later, however now it's very late and I feel frustrated and overwhelmed with repeatedly looking! I'm looking for:

▪︎ 7-11 nights, flying out 22nd August or later (I'm midlands but open to driving further afield)
▪︎ Back in the UK by 6th Sept (for school)
▪︎ For 2 adults, 2 kids (13 and 9)
▪︎ Short haul where it's not too hot (eg. Portugal, Greece, Spanish Islands, not Egypt, Tunisia, south of Turkey)
▪︎ Distinctly separate sleeping areas, preferably with actual beds rather than sofa beds
▪︎ Youngest would like some waterslides on site, oldest would like easy access to a beach.
▪︎ I'd like it not to be too remote ideally
▪︎ Husband wants fun stuff/entertainment going on for the kids/all of us of an evening.

I have been working on assumption of all inclusive, but very open to suggestions. Budget £3-5k. Please hit me with your recommendations!

Edit to say I saw I'd got a typo in the title as I posted it but I can't amend it 🤦🏻‍♀️

I think you’ll find most places are too hot at the moment so probably not much to choose between them. Dalaman is currently one degree higher than Barcelona…and probably cheaper for hotels with what you want.

Put your requirements into the Jet2 holidays deals finder, starting from East Midlands and Birmingham , add Manchester if nothing comes up. Also add Spanish mainland.

I'm sure you'll find something lovely within budget if your expectations are reasonable.

Or you could look at Sopot on the Polish Baltic coast where you won't get an AI package but your money will go much further for accommodation and eating out. As well as the beach and woodland walks you can go into Gdansk. Will be warm but not southern European hot.

Berlin with lake swimming could be another option.

Fuerteventura? There will be a breeze there most days which keeps the heat down. Lots of choice of apart-hotels

Most people are saying Portugal is cooler and seems very much on the fringe of any heatwave (though do check).

West coast probably will be, Cascais is lovely but not sure it’s a hotel with water slides kind of place.
