Anyone planning LA28?

LA28 anyone?

we’ve been to the Olympics a couple of times and really enjoyed it. I am on the email list for LA28 and originally was determined not to go due to the political situation. However, I am now rethinking. Seeing how much fun the World Cup was. Just interested if anyone else was planning it? Which venues will be the most iconic? I don’t have a particular sport that I want to watch, just there for the atmosphere really. Whereabouts would you base yourselves?

Yes, as both are my girls are most likely are to qualify for the Paras.

It is going to be interesting as I should have competed in the 1996 Paras and my Mum in 1984, so that is two generations of really bad memories of USA Para Sport, cancelling events, no infrastructure and negative energy. But ParaGB have signed a contract and they will be in Santa Barbara as the base camp with hopefully almost everyone under one roof.

We are flying out in time to catch some of the end of the olympics and then do a month with the Paras. I think we are planning to fly into Portland and Drive down Hwy 1 to Santa Barbara to drop the girls off before catching some events.

We will probably stay in Pasadena as it is on the Metro A line and that gives us flexibility without needing a car.

I’m hoping to go as a volunteer- I did the Olympics and Paralympics in Paris and loved it, so have applied again. I’ll work out where to stay if I get selected, based on where I’m assigned!
