EU Entry/Exit System (EES) departing Amsterdam airport - how long is the queuing time?

I'm a British passport holder flying from Amsterdam Schipol airport to Dubai airport on Saturday. Does anyone know how long the queue might be exiting under the new EES system? Should I get to the airport 5 hours beforehand to make sure I get my flight?

I flew into Barcelona airport in June and had to queue for 4.5 hours to get through the EES/passport desk for non-EU passport holders into Spain and it was really stressful as I can't stand for long periods of time due to a back injury and my kids found it really difficult waiting around in a massive crowded queue.

No need for EES when transiting from one Non Schengen country to another non Schengen country

We did it a couple of weeks ago. Took about 30minutes. The electronic registering bit was really quick. There was a queue as we had to go through the family line as we had children under 12 but those able to use the e-gates were much quicker.

Are you transferring or starting at Amsterdam? It's school holidays here so its pretty busy. You can use the egates, but the passport queue is still often 45-60 mins. 5h is probably overkill though, unless they're having a really bad day, and then you'll get a warning from your airline! You can book a free timeslot to go through the scanners which skips the first queue.

@TheVeryAngryBanana thanks, we are starting/leaving from Amsterdam for the UAE rather than transferring.

We have already registered faces and fingerprints on the EES system back in March but I have children under 12 years old so we can't use the manual gates and will need to queue for the desks for the manual passport check for non-EU passport holders. There's varying info online about the length of the queues to leave the Netherlands from 1- 3 hours...
