Hi everyone, looking for some inspiration please.....I have a week off work at the end of August/beginning of September and fancy going away for a few days.

I'm in my 50's single, like going out exploring, walking, beautiful surroundings in nature. Coast or country. Here or abroad.

I've been looking at holidays/flights abroad and this country, walking holidays but the single supplement is a killer

I have a budget of £500.00, which is not a lot I know!

I just fancy doing something a bit different but I don't know what....

I have access to a car, but no camping equipment.

So I thought I would ask for a bit of inspiration on here!

My other option is a starvation and days out and about!

Thank you x

Gothenburg! We've just got back from from here and the islands are beautiful and easy to access from the city. We stayed in a hotel which had breakfast, cake and coffee and an evening meal included in the price. It was around £120 a night for a lovely big double room. The flights were reasonable and we hardly spent on anything else. Transport and ferry costs are all very cheap.

We just had a weekend in Camber Sands/Rye/Dungeness. It was fabulous. There will still be lots to do and see come October (we think we will go back then). There were vinyards that were open to the public too. If you have a car, there is lots to do in the area.

Poland is very good value, especially if you're flexible on dates for your flights.

Look at Gdansk. 20 mins from the coast at Sopot, which is nature and wellness focused and the weather should still be good. You'll also be able to go into the city, all doable on the train very cheaply.

work out how far you're willing to drive and where that might get you to and look at caravans once the schools go back in early Sept, prices will plummet. Self-catering so food will only cost what it would at home and you can be out n about in the great outdoors for free all day.

Poznan was surprisingly super and cheap too! Would go back in a heartbeat

Have a play around with easyJet's site - I put some dates in for a trip to Malaga (I've never been there, but friends I was out with last night were saying what a great place it is), and you can get return flights there for under £90.

https://www.easyjet.com/en/buy/flights?isOneWay=off

Which leaves you a budget for an airBnB or similar, if not a budget hotel.
