Will never go back to Sharm in Egypt as even tho was a flop n drop in very beautiful and super expensive hotel we got ill for 2/3 days - as has everyone I know who has been to Sharm !

on my bucket list: Georgia (country, not the state) Jordan, Peru, South Africa
never again: more the type of holiday rather than the destination: no fly and flop particularly if the hotel has entertainment.

Where I would like to go: New Zealand, West Canada and West US, Peru, Jordan
Never Again: I don’t have many, but didn’t like the Pyramids in Egypt

We loved Alaska and definitely want to see more of it.

Nordic countries all have amazing scenery, and everything just works.

USA - huge variety of places to see, lots of history and scenery. National Parks are amazing - there’s lots of lesser known ones such as Lassen and Big Bend that I’d always recommend.

Northern Portugal is stunning, as is northern and north west Spain - food, scenery, walking, fabulous hotels.

Places I have no interest in - I’d give much of the ME a swerve, although going into the Oman mountains looks pretty good.

Loved Montenegro! Kotor bay was amazing
hated Bulgaria with a passion
want to see Montana, Alaska, New York, Japan, Bali, New Zealand and Australia

Vietnam, Norway, Santorini are all places I would visit again and again.

I’d avoid Morocco, Tunisia and Egypt.

I have been lucky enough to go to many amazing places.

Costa rica, south africa, Thailand and Iceland my fave trips

My favourite holidays were to Iceland and Vietnam. However, I really didn’t like Saigon/Ho Chi Minh City. Hot and skyscrapers are not my thing.

The Vatican was absolutely heaving, so we couldn’t really see much. I definitely wouldn’t go back.

Portugal is beautiful. We travelled from the top of Portugal to the bottom. Porto is stunning as is the duoro valley! The Yeatman hotel in Porto is exceptional! And the views from the spa are sensational.

We stayed in Gaia near the coast where the locals live/visit and it is beautiful!!

We visted Evora which was my absolute favourite place the roman history and all the windy side streets and restaurants have my heart!

Sintra at night when the crowds have gone home is beautiful. Althoygh I hated the palace because it was waaay too busy!

Some parts of Lisbon are quite touristy.

Portugal and the people are amazing, its very very cheap and we travlled the whole country by train.

Granted if you go to somewhere like Albufeira then yeh its brits abroad and everything caters to that but Portugal is fantastic and shouldn't be written off.

Best: Vietnam (Ninh Binh particularly, bit mixed in other places), Romania (nearly all places that we visited). Poland, Portugal (but not the Algarve) Serbia (Novi Sad and Belgrade) , Uzbekistan, Lviv, Ukraine, Hungary (Eger, Szeged and Buda). Majorca. Chiang Mai Thailand
Worst - Morocco (although Rabat is OK) Georgia (not really given this a fair chance, but Kutaisi was hard work) Bangkok, Thailand.

Been to a lot of Countries my absolute favourite is USA just so much to see and do and not enough time.

Worst places were France and Poland and Amsterdam

I'd really like to go to Tenerife but I hear it's extremely hilly

Oops, should add Washington DC as a plus,. Been all over in the US, sometimes multiple times. DC was best with Chicago, Philadelphia, Vegas and NY, and Boston as "good enough". Worst was Baltimore, also a nod to San Fran which has some good parts but the bad parts don't make up for it. Gary, Indiana has no redeeming features, unless you want to buy fireworks.

Found Thailand very interesting but I went there a long time back so it may have changed a lot. Madeira - loved the levada trails.
Went to Malta last year and loathed it. Very built up, tacky restaurants, crowded tourist attractions. I think the only place we really found interesting was Hagar Qim, and as we went very early in the year there were a few areas with lovely wildflowers (I believe it is very parched and bare most of the time).

Loved: Australia, Japan, Tobago, the Grenadines, Kenya, Sierra Leone
Wouldn't return to: Egypt, Marrakech (unless with a group), Bangkok
Would love to go to: Western Canada, South Africa, New Zealand, Italy

The only places I’ve been that I wouldn’t go back to are Gibraltar (long story why I went there in the first place but once you’ve seen the Rock and the monkeys there’s fuck all else to do) and Moscow (for reasons I expect are obvious).

Shout out to the person upthread who wants to do Antarctica - that’s my bucket list. (And so jealous of Svalbard! My husband needs convincing!)

Travel is our everything, the best places ever Italy always (everywhere), Singapore, Hawaii, Cuba, Japan and we do love Disney. All of them but they need some diluting with other things while you’re there.

Someone upthread said Amsterdam wasn’t good, they are wrong 😂 we’ve been many times in many guises and many generations so every time a different schedule. Always amazing. So pretty, so easy, so essential to see!

Best places: Argentina, Peru. Ecuador and the Galápagos Islands, Japan, Western Canada and the Great Bear rainforest, South Africa and Botswana. Many areas in the USA are great. We liked Chicago and Washington DC, the Blue Ridge Mountains and Virginia. Nepal and Bhutan are great.

I was less keen on Santiago in Chile and Las Vegas is tacky and crowded. Calcutta feels like the historical black hole. It’s to be endured, not enjoyed!

Favourite places - Singapore, Malaysia . Kefalonia . The west coast of Scotland and the outer Hebrides.
Wont go back to any of the Canary Islands . Some parts of the Algarve I definitely wouldn’t return to but there are nice areas.
For city breaks I loved Porto ,Copenhagen, Edinburgh and London
I would love to go to Vietnam and Cambodia, and Iceland.
i would also love to cruise up the Norwegian Fjords or do an Alaskan cruise

Favourite places: Iceland, New Zealand, Ireland (travelled all over all three - stunning)

Would love to visit: Canada, Costa Rica, Vietnam

I don’t think there’s anywhere I’d refuse to go to again, but I wouldn’t necessarily rush back to Bangkok, Rome or Barcelona (although I’m probably in the minority with those last two).

Favourite places mainly are to do with wildlife / scenery. Loved Australia (Great Barrier Reef, Atherton Tablelands, Daintree etc), Sri Lanka, Borneo, Costa Rica and enjoyed South Africa for penguins and big 5. Within Europe favourites are Venice, Lapland at Christmas at in summer for bears and Azores.

Not that keen on visiting cities but that's just personal preference, prefer not too many people and wildlife.

My favourites for lots of different reasons (but usually revolving around scenery/food/culture/weather/architecture) are:

Vancouver and Pacific Northwest US (Oregon coast is lovely)
Seville
Malaysia
Southern Germany
French Alps (summer or winter)
Barbados- just so beautiful to look at (or at least it was when I visited 25 or so years ago; hopefully still lovely).

On my wish list is lots more of Europe- I think I might be done with long haul. Definitely on my list soon are Slovenia, Georgia and Montenegro.

Places I wouldn’t return: quite a few resorts in Spain probably, especially on the Costa del Sol. I’m sure there are some lovely spots there but I’ve only seen a snapshot of it and the bits I saw consisted of a lot of the things that I don’t like very much. Probably wouldn’t return to Turkey either.

Have never been but have no desire to go to: Tunisia, Egypt, Dubai, Australia
