Hello! Looking to book a week away with my 16 month old. I’ve been looking at Majorca - either puerto pollensa or Cala d’Or.

Ive looked at reviews and mumsnet threads and still can’t decide on a hotel!

Ideally would like a nice hotel for us adults, close to restaurants but still good pool area etc for 16 month old.

These hotels keep coming up )

  • Hoposa villaconcha (pollensa)
  • Playa mar hotel and spa (pollensa)
  • Inturotel Sa Marina (Cala dor)
  • Marsenses FERRERA Blanca (Cala dor)

Would love to hear thoughts if anyone has stayed here or any other hotel//area recommendations! Thank you

I would take Puerto Pollensa over Cala D’or any day. Playa Mar is lovely and a nice stroll along the bay to the town.

Stayed in Villa Concha last week (apartment) and it would be fine for a baby.

I would recommend as a short a transfer as possible! I find kids are fine on the flight but once out of the airport you just want to get to the hotel! We had a long transfer to Cala bona and it was hell!

Villa concha is lovely and very baby friendly. Just bear in mind the transfer as pp said...if you can stretch to it I'd get a taxi
.

I live near Pollensa town. It’s about 80-90 € for a taxi from the airport nowadays and takes about 30 minutes so it’s not too bad. Cala d’or is lovely but puerto Pollensa has more to do i think as you have a long sea front with a ton of restaurants. The restaurants can be pricey so watch out for that.

Puerto Pollensa is a bit "naicer" than Cala d'Or, measured by numbers of football shirts and places where you can get Carling and a Full English Breakfast. (Cala d'Or isn't exactly Gomorrah, though.)

Both places are about an hour's drive from the airport. A PP mentioned a long transfer time - that's much more about how long it takes to fill up the bus at the airport and empty it by touring a dozen hotels, than the actual road time.

Whichever you choose, check that the hotel will allow non-potty-trained toddlers in the pool (or at least "a" pool).

Been to both places and they are both lovely. A few weeks ago we were in Puerto Soller which is gorgeous.

Any of the CM Hotels in Cala Millor are good. Have a great holiday!
