Morzine activities with 14 year old

Hello everyone,

We have booked a week away to morzine at the end of August. If any of you have been with active teenagers can you tell me what activities were big hits?

My son is 14 and loves to be adventurous and active. It's our first holiday without my eldest son so I think he's going to miss having a buddy so want to make sure he has plenty to keep his interest. Him and hubby love cycling so I'm sure they will do some of that whilst I relax at the pool but would be good to have some other things we can all do.

I'm finding googling everything a bit overwhelming so would be great to have some tips. We have rented a car so hoping to visit other areas too especially lake Annecy.

Hi op I can't give specific companies to use as it was so long ago now but Morzine was our go-to teen holiday back when I was growing up and it was amazing (all of us plan to do it with our own kids when they are old enough). The most memorable things we did were horse riding, lake swimming, hiking, the luge, ski lifts etc. My older siblings did paragliding (I had a fear of heights so didn't join them). My parents also let me have my first alcoholic drink in a bar there when I got my GCSE results which was especially memorable :D We also bought a pack of cards and a large bag of change and played Texas Hold Em in the evening during the epic thunderstorms. Very fond memories, and hope your youngster enjoys. Make sure to bring some good reading material, whatever they are into, whether it be comic books or magazines or whatever, as some afternoons will be too hot to do more than lie around reading and sleeping.

My son and I went last summer when he was 15 and had a great time. You can hire paddle boards at the nearby lake, that was really good. Getting the cable car and chairlifts up the mountains for lovely walks is good plus there’s a huge zip line you can go on.

We also went rafting as part of an organised trip but I’m sure you can look online and drive there yourself.
There are places in town where you can book paragliding. Loads to do and it’s a lovely area.

Its a lovely place and loads to do. He might like paragliding at that age? Le Lac nearby is good for Lake swimming and paddleboading, there's high hiking using the chair lifts, high ropes courses, ice skating, horse riding... also an indoor and pool in the centre, and one up in avoriaz for any rainy days

Oh wow so sounds like he won't be bored then lol.

Is it ok to just book stuff when we get there or should I be planning ahead and getting some things booked?

Thank you so much!

We don't have the multi pass as we have booked an air BnB. They have said we can buy at the tourist office though so will probably do that when we arrive so we can plan our activities out.
Thank you for a great list to go by! Start to feel more excited now!
Seems like there is actually too much to see and do....might have to book another week lol
