February family holiday with 1 & 4yo

Looking to know where people would recommend for a family holiday with a 1yo & a 4yo, and flying direct from Scotland please?

Are you thinking of a fly and flop beach holiday, or somewhere wintery and good for exploring with kids?

Not the types to enjoy sitting on a beach doing nothing for a week or two, but equally happy exploring a city or the countryside with a day or two at a beach if available.

if you want beach weather in Feb you need to be heading south to either the canaries, middle east or north africa (or southern hemisphere but then you're into long haul flights).

I think Alicante would be a good shout. It will be tshirt weather but not swimming in the sea necessarily. It will be like a Scottish summer.
Malta can be good too and quite an easy holiday with kids

Not sure we'd bother with long haul as we might only got for a week depending on cost. Malta/Alicante are interesting suggestions so will look into them.

Somewhere it just won't be wet all the time would be a good start. Warm would be a bonus.
