Thailand help needed. Hotels for Bangkok and Beaches?

Looking at Thailand for around 2 weeks over Easter 2027 with two children (10 & 12). Thinking a couple of nights in Bangkok, maybe Chiang Mai for a few days, then down south for the beaches – Phuket/Krabi or somewhere else?
We’d like 5-star hotels. Has anyone done a similar trip and can recommend hotels and best beach area for that time of year? Thanks!

In Bangkok we love the Milennium Hilton next to Icon Siam. Look for the panoramic suite with club lounge access.
we usually book through Agoda.

Khao Lak near Phuket is a great place to visit. Lots of newish hotels there. It’s a quick flight from Bangkok too.
Easter is probably the hottest time of year to go though so is considered low season.

We had a suite in this hotel in Chiang Mai - not five star, but lovely nonetheless.

We did this exact trip earlier in the year and stayed at Avani plus in Koh Lanta which was incredible

Centre Point Sukhumvit Soi 10, it’s 4 star but in a great location (close to Asok and Nana) and we had views out over Benjakitti Park. Shanghai-La is good too but I didn’t like the location as much and ended up travelling to or via Sukhumvit anyway.

Krabi: Dusit Thani.

If you like 5 star then the only ones in Bangkok to go to are:
The Mandarin - original grande dame hotel and beautifully refurbished. Kids will love the pool
or/ The Peninsula - impeccable service and incredible buffet breakfast. Lovely pool too

Try Serendiputy beach resort in Koh Lipe

This was our itinerary for Easter just gone:

Bangkok 1n
Khao Sok 3n Inc a night on the lake
Khao Lak 6n
Phuket 2n
Bangkok 1n

We have been to Bangkok before and wanted to do other things this trip.

I would look at when Songkran is and factor that in your plans- I made sure we were in Bangkok for it.

Thanks for all the hotel recommendations! I’ll check them out.
Songkran 2027 is Tuesday April 13 to Thursday April 15. So we will miss it by a few days this time.

Krabi: Dusit Thani.

Suitable for kids? We like to eat pancakes on the beach and eat street food etc
then return to a lovely 5* hotel 😂

I don’t know what star it is but the Sukhothai in Bangkok is lovely

Katathani Resort just outside Kata is beautiful!! We did 10 nights in February and I want to go back! Google it, you can check out neighbouring Karon and take a Tuk Tuk to Patong to see the craziness and escape back to bliss after.
